New Delhi/Patna, June 17: Residents in Bihar are up in arms against veteran social activist Anna Hazare's anti-graft crusade, claiming that it exposes his dual character. They have also rubbished the fact that he is a Gandhian on grounds that he supported the violence against Biharis in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra perpetrated by goons of the regional Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, which is led by Raj Thackeray. 

Kundan Prasad Singh, the father of Rahul Raj, who was shot dead by Mumbai Police in Mumbai, said in Patna: "For the people of Bihar, Anna Hazare is a man of Dohra Charitra ( dual character), and therefore, a character without substance."

"Anna has the least respect for the Constitution, as he supported the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's campaign to target people from Bihar seeking jobs in Maharashtra," he added.

Kundan Singh said: "The framers of our Constitution incorporated Article 19G, which guarantees all Indians to practise any profession, or to carry on any occupation, trade or business within the boundaries of India."

"Should we ask Anna ..whether he will scrap Article 19G and make Maharashra for only Maharashtrians? First he and Raj Thackeray should make Maharashtra a corruption-free state," said Kundan.

It may be worth mentioning that Rahul Raj , a Patna youngster, had hijacked a BEST Bus at gun point in suburban Kurla and made 12 passengers hostages to register his protest against the attack on poor Bihari students, who had appeared for an examination conducted by the Ministry of Railways. Later, he was shot dead by Mumbai Police on October 27, 2008.

Not only, is Rahul Raj's father angry, even students have expressed their ire against Hazare's agitation.

Onkar Pandey, the vice president of the All India Students Association, said: "The so-called crusade against corruption is nothing but to gain cheap popularity".

He said a leader, who once supported and stoked regionalism and hatred, cannot be a leader of the nation.

Ramesh Singh, a post graduate student at the Patna College of Arts, said: The media should stop calling him a Gandhi in making, as it is an insult to our Father of the Nation."

The anger against Anna Hazare was quite palpable in the university campus. The students demanded that Anna apologise and denounce the MNS style of politics.

The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena, the student outfit of the right-wing Shiv Sena, has decided not to allow Anna Hazare to visit Bihar.

Kaushalendra Sharma, its president, said: "Come what may ...but we would not allow Anna to put his feet on the soil of Bihar. We will fight against him lock , stock and barrel."

Raghvendra Mishra, a Sanskrit teacher at a government school in Kankarbagh, said: "Whether it is the freedom struggle, or the JP Movement, it all started from Bihar and the winds of change emanates from Bihar only."

He also said that there was a difference between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Anna Hazare one was attacking the menace of corruption siliently and efficienty (Kumar), while the other was making too much of noise (Hazare).

Hazare had said at the height of the MNS lumpenism that "Some ideas of Raj Thackeray were correct, as outsiders trying to prove their dominance in the state, were not at all acceptable".

Criticising the political rally organized by Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janta Dal in Mumbai, he had then said that such activities were unacceptable, as the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh had ample space to hold such programmes."
